Memorial Day Weekend

This year we went up to the cabin to hang out with my parents. They've been spending a lot of time up there this year, and doing a lot of work on the outside of the cabin. It was good to get away for a few days, have a change of scenery, and spend some time together. We even brought Freckles and Bailey with us!

Highlights of the weekend were ATV riding, getting a jog in with Dad, going on hikes together, and finding a new overlook very close to the cabin. We also enjoyed hanging out and playing Catan. The weather was very nice until Memorial Day. When it lightly snowed! Not to worry though, since we were planning on leaving that day anyway.

Last Day of School

This was a very different year than most! The kids completed most of their second semester of school at home. They still did very well and enjoyed their time at home for the most part, even though they missed their friends.

Stacey still took last day school pictures. Look how much they've grown since the beginning of the school year. Pretty amazing to see how much they changed in the face, too.

Best Birthday Ever

I had a great birthday this year thanks to Stacey and the kids. They were all so excited for me to open up their presents that they got a little pushy. Ha ha. Stacey had put a lot of effort into finding me a really cool medal and race number holder for my cycling adventures as well as making me a delicious Thai coconut curry dish.

Julia continues to amaze me with her thoughtfulness. Every year Stacey waits for the kids to fall asleep and then blows up balloons for outside their bedroom door. Julia did this for me all on her own without Stacey or me knowing. She stayed up really late, even though she wanted to go to bed, by playing a game on her computer. She then snuck downstairs and got all the supplies, blew up the balloons, and hung them above our door without anyone knowing. It will always be a special memory for me.

Julia made us dinner tonight from her new cookbook! It was amazing, especially the potatoes. In case you're wondering how good they were, I don't like potatoes, but this recipe is going to be used for all future holidays and meals! Jonathan completed the meal with personalized cards for each us.

Even though all races have been cancelled through the end of May, I'm still training and riding as hard as ever in preparation for something in the future. I still went down to Pueblo on the day of the scheduled race that was cancelled, as did a few others, to support for one of our teammates that put in a lot of work to bring the race to Pueblo for the first time ever.
