Audubon Park

We went to New Orleans this year for Spring Break. Our neighbors, the Stremmels, have a family condo down there. So, with a free place to stay and airline miles, it was a good chance to go somewhere we've never been to before.

The condo literally walked out to Audubon Park.  We took a few walks around the park during our stay. Also pictured is the front of the condo (bottom left) looking back from the entrance to the park.  It was very lush and pretty (and warm, but not hot) compared to back home.

We spent the first day at the National WW2 Museum since it was supposed to be a rainy day. I was very impressed with everything that they have there, even if we couldn't really spend the time we wanted to on each exhibit with the kids in tow. I'd like to go back there some day. You probably need a week to fully digest and remember everything. As we were leaving Pat called us and told us that Stacey's grandmother had purchased a memorial brick for her grandfather. We were able to find the brick as we were leaving the museum.

Third Annual Daddy Daughter Ski Day

We love going to Ski Cooper together.  Although it's a bit of a drive, it's always great value for the money and it's never crowded. Of course it helps that we always pick a day with amazing weather and during the week. Julia is a great little skier and loves to go. We always have fun together and it's become a fun tradition.

Bailey's Big Day

Is there a doctor in the house?  Actually, yes, there is...

Very thankful that Grandpa (and Northwest Animal Hospital) was able and willing to do Bailey's spay today. She was in great hands. Grandma also helped and took the pictures for everyone. Bailey is doing great now and it's like nothing ever happened. We're all wondering if this will be the last surgery for Grandpa. If so, what a great dog to do it on!

Castle Tea

We went to Glen Eyrie Castle this year for my Mom's birthday. It was really cool to see the inside the building and enjoy some tea and "strumpets". Normally they serve afternoon tea in a small room near the entrance, but due to distancing requirements they had to move it to a larger room upstairs.

The kids had a great time too! In fact, several days later Stacey and Julia went back with the Stremmels for some girl time.

New Bike Day

2020 Cannondale Super X! I've been thinking about getting a gravel and cyclocross bike for awhile. At first I tried my old road bike with skinny knobby tires, and lately I've been riding my old steel mountain bike.  Neither really fit the bill of a road bike that I could take off road.

There are so many places to ride and explore around here if you have a bike that can handle dirt roads. The options are pretty much endless!
