Air Force v. Army

We picked a perfect day to watch our first football game together at Mile High. Jonathan had never been to this stadium, so it was pretty cool to show him around before the game. The weather was actually quite hot sitting in the sun all day, but obviously preferable to cold weather.

The game was pretty bad, actually, if you were an Air Force fan. They went into this game undefeated and pretty much didn't do anything all game but turn the ball over. Jonathan and I made up for it with two servings of loaded chicken nachos and a giant bottles of water. The pregame flyover by four A10s was pretty cool as well.

We had a fun time hanging out together for sure. Maybe next time we'll come back for an actual Broncos game!

Cabin Weekend, Part 2

Bailey and I decided to spend a few more days up at the cabin together this month. It was nice to have some alone and quiet time. We took a walk and also drove up Eleven Mile Canyon on a really nice day. It snowed the last day we were there, so I was glad we were able to catch the last few days of fall in the mountains.

Cabin Weekend

Fun weekend at the cabin with Grandpa and Grandma. The girls were busy at a cheer competition in Denver and working Air Force Academy concessions, so Jonathan and I decided to skip our game/race and head up to the cabin over the long weekend.

We shot the pellet gun, rode the ATV, and Bailey got in a few walks. The weather turned out to be pretty nice later in the day, so we waited to do things outside until it warmed up. I rode from Lake George to Tarryall Reservoir and back, while playing with the Hover X1 drone along the way. That was a lot of fun for me, both the ride and making a video of it.

I think Jonathan and Bailey had fun too. It was good to spend some time with them alone and with Grandpa and Grandma!

The Rad Dirt Fest

Another good day of racing down in Trinidad. The same group (LifeTime) that put on SBT GRVL put on this race near the border with New Mexico.

I got up really early and drove down the morning of the race, since it was a later start. The race went well up until the point when I caught a thorn in my tire which caused me to slowly leak air. Fortunately I noticed it right before an aid station, but I had to stop to repair the flat and lost 5 minutes as a result. At the time I was sitting second/third, but got passed by several others over those 5 minutes. I was able to catch up to all but one, and finished 4th overall but 1st in my age group. It probably only cost me one overall place!
