Stacey and spiders don't get along. Actually, none of us really like spiders. Stacey has been known to scream and Julia and Jonathan definitely run the other way when it comes to bugs. Usually I'm the one who has to trap and kill any insects that enter our house.
That's what made today so surprising. Stacey was opening a bin in the basement closet when a spider appeared. She let out a scream, which gave Jonathan license to do the same. Julia, in her ever thoughtfulness, stepped up and said, "Momma, I'll be brave for you" and then smashed the spider three times with a plastic spoon.
Stacey still had to clean up, but Julia was the hero.
